Aeonium leucoblepharum (Yemen form) is a distinctive, branching succulent shrub admired for its elegant rosettes and striking natural colour contrasts. Each rosette is composed of pointed, spoon-shaped leaves with soft pastel green centres, edged in pink to salmon tones, and marked by a bold maroon to reddish-brown stripe running along the midrib. These markings intensify under strong light, giving the plant a vivid, almost painted appearance that stands out in any succulent collection.

This species develops long, sprawling to gently cascading stems that branch freely, forming a bushy, architectural plant with rosettes positioned at the tips of each branch. In pots, it creates a graceful, slightly trailing habit, while in the ground it can spread outward as much as it grows upward. Mature plants typically reach around 60–80 cm in height and spread, making them ideal as feature succulents for containers, raised beds, or sheltered garden positions.

Native to mountainous regions of Yemen and parts of northeast Africa, Aeonium leucoblepharum has evolved to cope with bright sun, warm days, and cooler nights. Like other Aeoniums, it follows a winter–spring growth cycle, slowing down during the hottest summer months. In season, established plants produce domed clusters of small, star-shaped yellow flowers that rise above the foliage, adding an extra layer of interest.

Best results are achieved in a sunny to lightly filtered position using a fast-draining succulent or cactus mix. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry between waterings, and protect from prolonged frost. In most parts of Australia, it performs well in frost-free gardens or pots that can be moved under cover during colder periods.
