Sedum dasyphyllum 'Minor' is one of the smallest and most charming members of the Stonecrop family, forming dense carpets of tiny, rounded blue-grey leaves that create an attractive, soft-textured groundcover. This delightful miniature succulent reaches approximately 12 cm in height when in flower, making it an excellent choice for rockeries, fairy gardens, alpine troughs, miniature landscapes, living walls, hanging baskets and decorative containers. Its compact growth habit also makes it ideal for filling gaps between stepping stones or cascading gently over the edges of pots.

Like most members of the Sedum genus, this plant is incredibly resilient. Even if overwatering causes root loss, the stems readily produce new aerial roots, allowing the plant to quickly re-establish itself. It also propagates effortlessly from fallen leaves—often even the tiniest leaves will produce new roots and eventually develop into complete plants. This remarkable ability to regenerate is one of the reasons Sedum dasyphyllum 'Minor' spreads so readily to form attractive carpets of foliage and has earned the common name Stonecrop. Many gardeners joke that they thrive where little else will, requiring so little attention that "only stones need less care!"
Sedum dasyphyllum 'Minor' performs best in a free-draining succulent or cactus mix with plenty of bright light or full sun. Once established it is highly drought tolerant, requiring only occasional watering during extended dry periods. Its ease of cultivation, colourful foliage and exceptional hardiness make it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced succulent collectors alike.
