Lobivia Arachnacantha Red Form is a unique cactus cultivar that distinguishes itself with a spectacular show of radiant red flowers. This cactus is native to Bolivia and is also recognized by the name Echinopsis arachnacantha. Its intriguingly dark red body, almost appearing black during the cooler months, offers an enchanting contrast to its vibrant blooms.

The flowering season of this succulent is a sight to behold. The cactus produces an abundance of buds along its sides once a year. These buds gradually unfold into dazzling flowers that remain open during the day, and close when the night falls. Mature plants can even grow more than 20 flowers during their blooming season, transforming this small cactus into a radiant display of red.

Lobivia Arachnacantha Red Form is renowned for its round individual heads that can reach about 4 cm in diameter. The plant tends to form clusters, producing offsets from its base, providing an interesting dimension to your garden. Despite the prickly appearance of its spines, they're not too sharp, meaning the cactus can be comfortably handled without gloves.

This plant thrives under a variety of conditions. Whether in full sun or partial shade, the Lobivia Arachnacantha Red Form will grow heartily, although it prefers some protection from harsh afternoon sunlight during heatwaves. It's a drought-tolerant cactus, being able to survive without water for extended periods, but it grows more robustly when watered regularly.

For indoor enthusiasts, this cactus can also be grown inside in a sunny location, though it may grow more slowly and not bloom as readily. Its captivating colour might transform into green when placed indoors. Nevertheless, it's the perfect addition for rockeries or pots, presenting a wonderful contrast amidst other succulents.

To take care of the Lobivia Arachnacantha Red Form, ensure the soil is allowed to dry out completely between watering sessions, particularly during winter. Always ensure it's planted in a well-draining soil, and never let it sit in water. A minimal maintenance, resilient yet visually delightful plant, it's the perfect addition to any cacti or succulent collection.
