Zygocactus 'Purple Dancer'
Zygocactus 'Purple Dancer' boasts bright, fuchsia purple petals that elegantly fade toward the middle, creating a captivating contrast. These vivid flowers can reach up to 8 cm in length and emerge at the ends of the segmented, flat leaves, which measure 4-6 cm. The striking colors and beautiful form make 'Purple Dancer' a standout in any succulent collection.
Originating from Holland, 'Purple Dancer' is a captivating hybrid from the renowned Schlumbergera Truncata Dancer Series, celebrated for its resilience and prolific flowering. It thrives in both outdoor partially shaded positions and sunny indoor spots. To ensure optimal blooming and prevent leggy growth, it's crucial to provide bright, filtered light with short days and long, cool nights, ideally around 11-13 hours of darkness.
Despite being a cactus, overwatering can lead to rot, so it's essential to let the soil dry on top before watering again. Use a well-drained cactus or succulent potting mix and apply a light water-soluble fertilizer in early spring and late summer to promote blooms. This epiphytic cactus, native to Brazil, grows naturally on rock crevices and tree boughs, pollinated by hummingbirds.
Perfect for pots and hanging baskets, Zygocactus 'Purple Dancer' can be grown on patios, under trees, or indoors, adding a touch of vibrant beauty to any space. Known also as Crab Cactus, Zygocactus has been cultivated since the early 1800s, with a diverse range of flower colors and shapes developed by breeders worldwide. With minimal care, this plant offers a stunning display, making it a delightful addition to any collection.

Succulents naturally change in colour, size and form throughout the year. Many develop richer colours and more compact growth during periods of seasonal stress, particularly through cooler months and brighter conditions, while warmer or lower-light conditions may produce greener, softer growth.
The plant you receive may therefore vary from the product images depending on the season, its stage of growth and current growing conditions. These natural variations are part of the character of living plants and do not affect their quality or health.
