Cotyledon papillaris 'Pixie Bean' is a delightful trailing succulent that forms a compact rosette of grey-green leaves with small bumps or papillae. This slow-growing plant is ideal for small containers or rock gardens, reaching a height of around 10-15 cm and a width of 15-20 cm. The leaves are smaller than those of the species and are arranged in a symmetrical pattern, giving the plant a neat and tidy appearance.

In late spring to summer, the plant may produce a tall inflorescence with clusters of tubular, orange-red flowers, adding a splash of colour to its surroundings. This is not guaranteed, however, and the plant's beauty lies mostly in its attractive foliage.

Cotyledon papillaris 'Pixie Bean' is a hardy and drought-tolerant plant that requires well-draining soil and bright sunlight. Water sparingly when the soil is dry to the touch, and reduce watering in winter when temperatures drop. Feed the plant once or twice during the growing season with a slow-release fertilizer for container plants.

This cultivar is a great addition to any succulent collection, and its compact size and trailing habit make it a versatile plant for various garden styles. It is easy to propagate by stem or leaf cuttings, making it a perfect plant for sharing with friends and family.

In summary, Cotyledon papillaris 'Pixie Bean' is a charming succulent with a unique appearance that is easy to care for and propagate. Its small size and trailing habit make it a great choice for small containers or rock gardens, and its attractive foliage and occasional blooms add interest to any space.
