Cotyledon 'Silver Waves', a standout succulent in modern landscaping, offers a unique aesthetic appeal with its ornamental qualities and resilience. Native to the rocky landscapes of southern Africa, this variety of Cotyledon orbiculata dazzles with upright stems and striking, silvery-white foliage. The leaves, large and coated in a powdery substance, feature wavy margins that add texture and depth to any garden setting. Perfect for creating a sea of silver in mass plantings, 'Silver Waves' provides a brilliant contrast to darker foliage and architectural plants, such as the Queensland Bottle Tree or the lush Prunus Portuguese Laurel.
Adaptable and frost-tolerant, 'Silver Waves' thrives in a range of environments, from the open garden to the intimate balcony. This succulent's ability to withstand moderate frosts and its preference for well-draining soil make it a resilient choice for Australian gardens. Reaching up to 1 metre in height, it remains compact in smaller pots, allowing for versatile use in both indoor and outdoor settings.
During the cooler months, 'Silver Waves' transforms with clusters of pink, bell-shaped flowers, enhancing its decorative appeal. Its growth habit forms a dense, low shrub, requiring minimal care. A well-lit position ensures optimal colouration, and although drought-tolerant, occasional watering promotes healthy growth without compromising its hardiness.
Incorporating Cotyledon 'Silver Waves' into your garden or indoor space not only elevates the visual interest with its silvery foliage but also introduces a plant that is easy to care for, making it a valuable addition for both novice and experienced gardeners. Whether used to accentuate modern landscapes or to brighten indoor terrariums, 'Silver Waves' is a testament to the beauty and versatility of succulents.

Succulents naturally change in colour, size and form throughout the year. Many develop richer colours and more compact growth during periods of seasonal stress, particularly through cooler months and brighter conditions, while warmer or lower-light conditions may produce greener, softer growth.
The plant you receive may therefore vary from the product images depending on the season, its stage of growth and current growing conditions. These natural variations are part of the character of living plants and do not affect their quality or health.
Pickup is available in Seville, Yarra Valley VIC by appointment. Order online as normal and any shipping charge will be automatically refunded after collection, unless you would prefer to receive an additional plant of similar value instead.
