Crassula tetragona, commonly known as the Miniature Pine Tree, is an upright, shrubby succulent prized for its strong architectural form and pine-like appearance. Its woody, branching stems and narrow, pointed foliage give it a miniature conifer look, making it a popular choice for pots, bonsai-style plantings, rockeries, and fairy gardens.

The leaves are narrow, linear and awl-shaped, measuring approximately 10–30 mm long, and are arranged in opposite pairs that form four distinct rows along the stems. Foliage is typically bright green to bluish-green, often developing subtle red tones at the tips when grown in high light or drier conditions. During spring and summer, mature plants may produce clusters of small, star-shaped flowers in soft white to cream at the ends of the branches.

Native to dry, rocky slopes of southern Africa, Crassula tetragona is well adapted to warm, low-humidity environments and free-draining soils. It performs best in full sun to light shade and should be grown in a well-draining succulent mix to prevent root rot. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry between waterings, particularly in cooler months.

This fast-growing succulent typically reaches 30–100 cm in height and 30–60 cm in width over time. It tolerates light frost to around -2 °C if kept dry, making it suitable for many Australian climates with minimal protection. Propagation is easy from stem cuttings, allowing growers to quickly establish new plants or shape existing specimens.
