About Echeveria ‘Lemon Berry’
Echeveria ‘Lemon Berry’ is a beautifully compact hybrid succulent derived from the ever-popular Echeveria elegans, a species valued for its resilience, adaptability and ease of growth. While retaining the attractive rounded rosette form of its parent, ‘Lemon Berry’ develops smaller, tighter heads with thicker, chubbier foliage, inspiring its distinctive “Berry” name.
The powdery blue-grey leaves are highlighted by translucent, icy margins that can develop soft pink, peach and golden-lemon tones under brighter light and cooler conditions. As individual rosettes mature, these subtle colour changes create an attractive contrast with newer growth and give ‘Lemon Berry’ its characteristic pastel appearance.
‘Lemon Berry’ readily produces offsets and gradually develops into attractive clumping colonies. When allowed to multiply, the compact rosettes can form beautiful low-growing mats, making this variety equally appealing in pots, succulent gardens and rockeries.
Growing from Cuttings
Echeveria ‘Lemon Berry’ is particularly rewarding to grow from a cutting because of its naturally compact, offsetting habit. Once established, a healthy cutting can begin producing additional rosettes and gradually develop into a substantial cluster, as illustrated in image 2. Where several smaller heads are supplied, they can be planted together for a fuller display or separately to establish individual plants.
Plant into a free-draining succulent mix and keep the cutting in bright, protected light while it establishes. Water sparingly at first, allowing the growing medium to dry between waterings. Once established and actively growing, provide plenty of good light to encourage tight rosette formation and stronger colouring. Morning sun and winter sun are particularly beneficial, while protection from intense afternoon sun during hot Australian summers can help prevent leaf scorch.
As the cutting establishes, the foliage becomes fuller and new growth develops into the compact rosette form characteristic of ‘Lemon Berry’. With time, offsets can form around the original cutting, transforming a single starting piece into an attractive colony of tightly packed pastel rosettes.

- Some plants, may look wrinkled when they arrive, may be somewhat limp, or soft to the touch. This is normal as they have been dried out for for a number of days before shipping to avoid rotting in the mail.
- Succulents are very hardy plants and they will recover quickly, providing you unpack them as soon as you receive them follow some simple care instructions you will find with your order.
