Delosperma congestum 'Gold Nugget'
Delosperma congestum 'Gold Nugget' is a striking alpine succulent known for its brilliant yellow, daisy-like blooms and vibrant evergreen foliage. This compact, spreading ice plant forms a dense mat of angular, bright green leaves that take on attractive reddish hues during winter. Originating from the alpine regions of South Africa, this variety thrives in Australia's diverse climate and brings a splash of colour to any garden or container.
Ideal for rock gardens, borders, or pathways, Delosperma congestum 'Gold Nugget' prefers full sun to light shade and requires lean, well-draining soil. It is exceptionally drought-tolerant once established and performs best when grown in areas with minimal moisture. However, avoid heavy, clay-rich soils, as these can lead to root rot. Its ability to withstand coastal conditions, resist deer, and attract butterflies make it an excellent choice for various garden settings.
During the warmer months, this low-growing succulent bursts into a profusion of large, golden-yellow flowers, creating a stunning contrast against the dark green foliage. As a perennial, it provides year-round interest and maintains its charm even during winter with its reddish-toned leaves. Cold-hardy and versatile, 'Gold Nugget' can thrive in cooler Australian regions, appreciating some afternoon shade and occasional moisture. Its compact size, typically reaching just 2.5 cm in height, ensures it remains a manageable addition to any landscape, while its resilient nature makes it an easy-care, rewarding plant to grow.

The plant you receive may therefore vary from the product images depending on the season, its stage of growth and current growing conditions. These natural variations are part of the character of living plants and do not affect their quality or health.
