Echeveria 'Fiona's Choice' is an attractive hybrid succulent derived from Echeveria halbingeri, valued for its compact rosette form and beautiful seasonal colour changes. Its neat proportions, soft pastel tones and tendency to produce offsets make it an appealing Echeveria for both mixed collections and individual pots.

The rosettes are composed of thick, fleshy, broadly spoon-shaped to obovate leaves, often covered with a delicate layer of farina – the natural powdery bloom that gives many Echeverias their characteristic soft, silvery appearance. Foliage can range through silvery blue and blue-green to subtle lavender and greyish-purple, depending on growing conditions and the time of year.

One of the most appealing features of Echeveria 'Fiona's Choice' is its ability to develop beautiful pink and rosy tones. With plenty of bright light, cooler temperatures and the natural stresses associated with seasonal growth, the leaves can blush noticeably pink, particularly around the margins and tips. As with many succulents, colour intensity will vary throughout the year.

Initially forming a tidy rosette, this cultivar will naturally produce small offsets, or "pups", around the lower stem and base as it matures. These gradually develop into an attractive cluster and can also be separated for propagation once sufficiently established.

Echeveria 'Fiona's Choice' performs best in a bright, sunny position with good airflow. In Australian conditions, some protection from intense afternoon sun during periods of extreme summer heat can help prevent leaf scorch. Grow it in a porous, free-draining succulent mix and water thoroughly before allowing the growing medium to dry between waterings. Avoid prolonged wet conditions around the roots and protect the plant from heavy frost.

An easy-care Echeveria with lovely form and changing colour, 'Fiona's Choice' is particularly rewarding when given enough light to reveal its beautiful pink tones.
