Graptosedum miul is an attractive succulent hybrid prized for its plump, rounded leaves, powdery blue-green colouring and soft pink to apricot tones that become more pronounced under brighter light. As it matures, it develops sturdy stems topped with compact rosettes, giving older plants a wonderfully full and characterful appearance.

Plants are available as Single Head and Triple Heads when in stock. Please select your preferred option from the menu above the Add to Cart button.

About Graptosedum miul

Graptosedum miul is generally described as a hybrid involving Graptopetalum amethystinum, commonly known as Lavender Pebbles, and Sedum clavatum. Its fleshy leaves reflect the rounded form associated with its Graptopetalum heritage, while its branching habit and compact rosettes make it an appealing plant both in pots and mixed succulent gardens.

The leaves are covered with a fine, naturally occurring waxy coating known as farina, which gives them their characteristic soft, powdery appearance. Depending on light levels, temperature and the season, the blue-green foliage can develop beautiful blushes of pink, peach, apricot and warm orange, particularly around the outer leaves and tips.

Growth Habit

Young plants begin as compact rosettes and gradually develop thicker stems as they mature. Established plants readily produce additional heads from the base and along their stems, eventually creating attractive multi-headed specimens with a small, branching shrub-like habit.

Single Head plants provide a neat young specimen that can be grown on and allowed to branch naturally, while Triple Heads offer a fuller plant from the outset. As this succulent continues growing, its appearance will naturally change as new offsets and branches develop.

Growing Graptosedum miul

Grow Graptosedum miul in bright light to morning sun for compact growth and the best seasonal colouring. Plants accustomed to stronger light can tolerate considerable sun, but newly purchased plants should always be introduced gradually to intense Australian sunlight to prevent scorching.

Use a free-draining succulent potting mix and water thoroughly, then allow the mix to dry before watering again. Its fleshy leaves store moisture well, making established plants quite drought tolerant. Avoid keeping the soil continually damp, particularly during cool or wet weather.

Graptosedum miul is an easy-care choice for pots, succulent arrangements and well-drained garden positions. Protect it from heavy frost and prolonged winter rainfall, and take care not to rub the leaves unnecessarily, as fingerprints and handling can permanently mark the protective farina.

Seasonal Colour & Plant Variation

Succulents naturally change in colour, size and form throughout the year. Many develop richer colours and more compact growth during periods of seasonal stress, particularly through cooler months and brighter conditions, while warmer or lower-light conditions may produce greener, softer growth.

The plant you receive may therefore vary from the product images depending on the season, its stage of growth and current growing conditions. These natural variations are part of the character of living plants and do not affect their quality or health.
