A unique mutation of the hybrid Graptoveria ‘Lovely Rose’—itself a cross between Echeveria and Graptopetalum—this monstrose form produces tightly packed, rosebud-like rosettes with a slightly irregular, contorted structure that makes each plant truly one of a kind.
What sets the Red Monstrose form apart is the striking red veining that runs through its leaves. This distinctive feature varies from plant to plant, adding character and depth to the foliage. Under strong light or mild stress, the veining becomes more pronounced, while cooler temperatures accentuate the plant’s overall pink, coral, and red tones. The interplay of colour and texture creates a living display that looks both painterly and architectural.
Caring for Graptoveria ‘Lovely Rose’ Red Monstrose requires a balance of light and restraint. It thrives in bright light to full sun, which enhances both its colour and its contorted form. In Australia, it grows best in frost-free regions with mild temperatures between 10–25 °C. Plant in a gritty, free-draining mix and water only when the soil is completely dry.
