Graptoveria 'Margaret Rose', also known as Graptoveria 'Norma', is a stunning hybrid succulent that is perfectly suited for Australian conditions. This plant is a cross between Graptopetalum amethystinum and Echeveria lilacina, which gives it the best traits of both its parents. A hybrid plant by breeder, Robert Grim, it produces stemless, clump-forming rosettes with thick leaves that can vary in colour from grey green to grey blue. As the plant matures, the leaves transition to soft pink in good light when a little stressed, making it a beautiful addition to any garden.

This succulent requires full sun to partial shade, and it thrives in bright light with ample airflow. It is important to note that this plant is frost hardy to 0°C, which makes it perfect for most areas in Australia, especially in the warmer regions. When it comes to watering, Graptoveria 'Margaret Rose' prefers to be watered when the soil is dry, as it is susceptible to root rot if overwatered. It requires porous soil with good drainage, which is essential for preventing waterlogging.

The leaves of Graptoveria 'Margaret Rose' are thick and obtuse with soft rounded edges. They have a light powdery dusting of farina that adds to their charm, making this plant a popular choice among succulent enthusiasts. As the plant ages it will form into beautiful clusters creating a stunning display of rosettes. When it comes to size, this plant can grow up to 15cm in height and  20cm in diameter, making it a great addition to any container or as a ground cover in a rock garden.

Overall, Graptoveria 'Margaret Rose' is a low-maintenance plant that is perfect for Australian conditions. It is easy to care for and requires minimal attention, making it a great choice for both novice and experienced gardeners. Its beautiful colours, unique foliage, and easy-to-care-for nature make it a pleasing addition for any succulent enthusiast looking for a low-maintenance, yet beautiful plant for their garden.
