Haworthia cooperi var. truncata is a compact South African succulent prized for its remarkably plump, translucent leaves. The soft blue-green to green foliage forms low rosettes, with the rounded leaf tips creating the characteristic windowed appearance for which this variety is particularly valued.
Plump, translucent leaf windows
The fleshy leaves are tightly arranged into compact rosettes and terminate in rounded, semi-transparent tips marked with delicate green lines. These translucent areas allow light to penetrate deeper into the leaf, an adaptation particularly useful to Haworthias that naturally grow partly sheltered or embedded among surrounding material.
Colour varies according to season and growing conditions. Plants may range from fresh green and blue-green to bronze or reddish tones under stronger light or drier conditions.
Compact, clustering growth
Individual rosettes remain relatively small, but established plants produce offsets and gradually develop into attractive clusters. The offsets can be left attached to create a substantial multi-rosette specimen or separated once sufficiently developed for propagation.

Haworthia cooperi var. truncata is an accepted botanical variety native to South Africa's Cape Provinces. It belongs to a naturally variable group of Haworthias characterised by soft, fleshy foliage and translucent leaf tips.
Growing Haworthia cooperi var. truncata
Grow in a free-draining succulent mix with bright filtered light and good airflow. Protection from intense Australian afternoon summer sun helps maintain attractive foliage and reduces the risk of scorching.
Water thoroughly when required, allowing the growing medium to dry appropriately between waterings. Avoid keeping the roots continuously wet. During dry periods the leaves may become slightly less plump, recovering as the plant takes up moisture again.
