Haworthia wimii hybrid ‘Silver Kiwi’ is a refined, slow-growing succulent prized for its compact rosettes and distinctive silvery-green tones. Thought to be derived from select Haworthia species and hybrids within the Asphodelaceae family, this cultivar showcases a harmonious blend of form and texture. Its triangular, fleshy leaves form neat rosettes typically ranging from 6 to 15 cm across, with surfaces marked by raised, pearly white tubercles and subtle, darker green banding that gives a soft “zebra” effect.

One of the most appealing features of ‘Silver Kiwi’ is its semi-translucent leaf tips, often referred to as “windowed” tissue. These allow light to penetrate the leaf surface, creating a gentle, glowing effect that enhances its ornamental appeal, particularly in bright, indirect light. Over time, mature plants may produce offsets, gradually forming small clusters that remain tidy and well-suited to container growing.

Ideal for indoor collections, windowsills, or shaded outdoor areas, this Haworthia prefers bright, filtered light or dappled shade. Direct, intense sun—especially during hot Australian summers—can lead to leaf stress or browning, although mild exposure may intensify the plant’s silvery hues. Growth remains compact, with most specimens reaching around 6–10 cm in height and width, making it an excellent choice for small pots or decorative arrangements.

Like most Haworthias, ‘Silver Kiwi’ thrives in a free-draining succulent mix and benefits from a cautious watering approach. Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings to avoid root rot. In warmer months, it may produce slender flower spikes bearing small, tubular white to greenish-white blooms. Hardy and low-maintenance, this hybrid is well suited to Australian conditions when protected from frost and excessive moisture, offering year-round structure and subtle colour variation.

First time customers... Please read our Shipping Guide in the top or bottom menu before placing your order.

Please Note:

  • All plants are sent bare rooted with no pots and soil, or minimum soil only.
  • Due to the drying process necessary for sending plants through the mail, plants may look slightly different than images shown on our website.
  • Some plants may look wrinkled when they arrive, or feel limp or soft to the touch. This is normal as they have been dried out for several days before shipping to avoid rotting in transit.
  • Succulents are very hardy plants and will recover quickly, provided you unpack them promptly and follow the care instructions included with your order.
