Echeveria 'Kissing' is a stunning hybrid succulent known for its broad, wavy emerald green leaves with striking pink to red margins. Though its exact parentage remains unknown, its unique appearance has made it a favorite among collectors. The rosettes can reach an impressive 30 cm in diameter, and the red hues in the leaves deepen during the summer, adding to its visual appeal. In ideal conditions, this plant forms a dense, colorful focal point that brightens any garden or succulent arrangement.
This succulent thrives in bright light, with full sun to partial shade being ideal. Gradual exposure to outdoor sunlight in spring will prevent sunburn, and when indoors, Echeveria 'Kissing' does best near a bright window to avoid leggy growth. A well-draining soil mix, rich in organic matter such as charcoal, perlite, and coarse sand, ensures healthy roots and prevents waterlogging, while the “soak and dry” watering method helps prevent overwatering.
Echeveria 'Kissing' prefers mild temperatures, growing comfortably between 10°C to 25°C, making it suitable for many Australian regions. It can tolerate brief dips as low as -4°C, but it’s best to bring it indoors if colder conditions persist. Propagation is straightforward, either through offsets or leaf cuttings in spring. With minimal fertilizer needs and an easygoing nature, this succulent makes a striking, low-maintenance addition to your collection.
