Echeveria 'Pikachu'
Echeveria ‘Pikachu’ is a sought-after Korean hybrid succulent admired for its compact symmetry, bold leaf structure, and remarkable colour response to light and temperature. It forms tight, well-balanced rosettes of thick, broad leaves that feel almost sculptural, making it a standout addition to any serious succulent collection.
The leaves are generously fleshy with softly pointed tips and are often coated in a fine layer of farina — a natural, powdery bloom that gives the plant a pale, matte finish while helping protect it from strong sun. Under bright light and warm conditions, the rosette develops glowing orangey-pink stress tones, particularly along the leaf tips and undersides. In lower light, the plant shifts to softer green hues, but its colour reliably deepens again once given stronger sun exposure.
Originating from South Korea, where modern hybridisation has produced some of the world’s most refined echeverias, ‘Pikachu’ reflects a strong emphasis on form, compact growth, and seasonal colour contrast. Its naturally tidy habit means it stays low and dense rather than stretching, especially when grown in bright, open conditions.
Like most echeverias, this variety performs best in a free-draining succulent mix and a pot that allows excess moisture to escape quickly. Water only once the soil has fully dried, as prolonged dampness can lead to root loss. It thrives in warm climates and is well suited to Australian growing conditions, provided it is protected from frost and excessive winter rain.

Pickup is available in Seville, Yarra Valley VIC by appointment. Order online as normal and any shipping charge will be automatically refunded after collection, unless you would prefer to receive an additional plant of similar value instead.
