Echeveria Prolifica Variegata, also known as 'Little Rose' variegated, is an exceptionally beautiful and rare form of Echeveria Prolifica. This succulent plant features powdery light blue leaves with cream to white variegation on the leaf margins, often producing extreme variegated heads from white to pale yellow, creating a beautiful contrast. Its leaf tips can turn a lovely pink when stressed or in bright light.

This plant is an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colors throughout the seasons, with the colors deepening or fading with the changing growing conditions. However, it is much slower growing than the regular form due to its diminished chlorophyll in its leaves because of the variegation. It is essential to have experience growing rare variegated succulents of this kind as they require special care and knowledge to keep them healthy and looking beautiful. Therefore, it is not a plant recommended for beginners.

To care for Echeveria Prolifica Variegata, it requires a well-draining soil mix that allows for proper drainage. Water only when the soil is completely dry, and avoid watering overhead as any water left sitting in its rosettes can cause them to rot. Bottom watering using the soak and dry method works well for this plant but be careful not to leave it sitting in water too long and completely saturate the soil, especially over winter when it has diminished watering requirements.

This succulent needs bright but filtered light to maintain good colour in its variegation. Protect from hot afternoon sun in summer or you will likely scorch its leaves. It is best to acclimatize the plant gradually to brighter light to prevent sun damage. This succulent will benefit from extra feeding. We recommend supplementing with a well balanced liquid fertilizer such as Power Feed, especially over the growing season, to keep it healthy and vibrant.

Propagation of Echeveria Prolifica Variegata can be challenging due to its slow growth and diminished chlorophyll. It is best propagated by stem cuttings when heads are a suitable size, but it is essential to be careful when handling the plant and cuttings to prevent damage, as leaves can dislodge very easily.

In summary, Echeveria Prolifica Variegata is a beautiful, rare, and unique succulent plant that requires special care and knowledge to keep it healthy and looking beautiful. With proper care and maintenance, this plant can be an eye-catching addition to any succulent collection and reward you with a kaleidescope of changing colours throughout the seasons, for many years.
