Echeveria ‘Valkyrie Trumpet’ is a highly distinctive hybrid succulent prized for its dramatic, tubular foliage that twists and curls upwards, creating a sculptural form unlike most traditional rosette succulents. Each leaf flares and narrows like a miniature trumpet, often compared to elephant trunks or open mouths, giving the plant an expressive, almost mythical character that stands out immediately in any collection.
This unusual form is the result of careful hybridisation, drawing influence from the soft pastel tones of Perle von Nürnberg and the exaggerated leaf structure of trumpet-type Echeverias. The rosette remains compact when young, gradually developing more pronounced curves and surface texture as it matures. Many plants display subtle to pronounced caruncles—small, bumpy growths—that add depth and individuality, ensuring no two specimens look exactly alike.
Colouration ranges from soft grey-green to lavender, dusty pink, and warm reddish-pink, intensifying with bright light, cooler temperatures, and mild stress. A fine coating of farina gives the leaves a matte, powdery finish that softens the colours and provides natural protection from sun exposure. In spring to early summer, mature plants may send up tall flower stems bearing bell-shaped blooms in shades of pink, orange, or yellow.
