Crassula multicava variegated plants for sale here

Crassula multicava variegated, also known as Fairy Crassula variegata, is a stunning new form of the common Crassula multicava succulent native to South Africa. This plant is highly sought after by succulent collectors due to its natural selection and is not commonly found in nurseries or in the wild. However, propagating this plant from stem cuttings is an easy and effective way to add it to your collection.

The plant features deep green leaves that form in opposite pairs, with striking variegation that starts as gold on new growth and matures to a snow-white color. Under stress, the leaves blush pink, creating a stunning effect. This mat-forming ground cover is a hardy and easy-to-care-for plant that grows to around 20 cm tall and branches from the base to form a dense clump.

As a hardy and easy-to-grow plant, Crassula multicava variegated is perfect for gardeners of all levels. The plant is suitable for pots and well-composted, clay soils. It is also a great ground cover plant, producing an outstanding uniform effect when planted in mass.

Crassula multicava variegated is resistant to droughts and low temperatures, above -3°C, and is a shade lover, though too much shade may negatively affect its color and flower quality. It is self-seeding and can also be propagated by stem cuttings. Simply cut a stem with a sharp, clean knife or scissors just below a node, remove the lower leaves, and let the cutting dry out for a day or two. Once the cutting has calloused over, plant it in well-composted clay soils or potting mix and water sparingly until new growth appears.

The plantlets produced on the flower head will also fall off and grow into independent plants, and the stems will root at the nodes wherever they touch the ground, making propagation even easier. This beautiful plant is found in forest margins, river and stream banks, and in coastal and subtropical thickets in mountainous regions of Natal, Eastern and Southern Cape in South Africa. Its stable variegation and stunning color changes throughout the year make it an attractive addition to any succulent collection or garden.
