Adromischus triflorus (grey form) is a fascinating succulent plant that belongs to the Crassulaceae family. This natural selection of Adromischus triflorus has distinct grey leaves that are adorned with red markings, making it a unique addition to any succulent collection. It is native to the Cape province, in south-western Karoo, and from near Worcester to Willowmore and Mossel Bay in little Karoo. This small shrub forms dense rosettes with fibrous roots and little branches that are grouped together.

The leaves of Adromischus triflorus (grey form) are ob-triangular and heart-shaped with a crested apex, which is a distinguishing characteristic of this species. They range in color from light green to brown-orange, with the red margin on the broadest apical part and occasional red spots on the upper half. This succulent is a seasonal grower and blooms in summer, producing a grey-green thyrse that contains yellowish-green or almost white flowers that are about 1 cm long.

This plant is drought-tolerant and prefers bright but not direct sunlight. It thrives in well-drained soils that mimic the gravelly slopes that are its natural habitat. Adromischus triflorus (grey form) can survive in temperatures as low as 5°C and requires watering twice a month in spring and summer, and once a month in winter.

Adromischus triflorus (grey form) is easily propagated through leaf cuttings, To propagate, a leaf is gently pull down away from the stem making sure the leaf comes away cleanly. Place the leaf lying flat on damp soil, or coir fibre and keep out of the direct sun in good light till it develops roots and new leaves are seen sprouting from the leaf end.

The name Adromischus comes from the ancient Greek adros (=thick) and mischos (=stem), which describes the thick stems of this species. Overall, Adromischus triflorus (grey form) is a striking and unique succulent that is perfect for collectors who appreciate its unusual features and easy-to-care-for nature.
