Sempervivum arachnoideum 'Tiny Tots' is a charming, miniature variety of the Cobweb Houseleek, distinguished by its exceptionally small, tightly clustered rosettes. A cultivated selection of Sempervivum arachnoideum, this variety inherits the species' signature fine, white webbing across its leaves, creating a delicate cobweb effect that enhances its visual appeal. Unlike the standard form, 'Tiny Tots' features a dense, low-growing habit, forming a mat of petite, lime-green rosettes that can develop reddish tips when exposed to bright sunlight.
Thriving in well-draining soil and full sun, 'Tiny Tots' is a hardy, drought-tolerant succulent that requires minimal maintenance. It slowly spreads through offsets, creating an attractive ground cover or filling small crevices in rock gardens. During summer, mature rosettes send up slender flower stalks, each adorned with small, star-shaped pink flowers, a striking contrast to the plant's compact growth. As with all Sempervivums, the flowering rosette completes its life cycle after blooming but leaves behind a cluster of offsets to continue growing.
Perfect for rockeries, fairy gardens, and container displays, Sempervivum arachnoideum 'Tiny Tots' adds texture and structure to any succulent collection. Its resilience against harsh conditions, combined with its unique cobweb-like appearance, makes it a standout choice for low-maintenance landscapes. For best results, provide it with plenty of sunlight, protect it from excessive moisture, and enjoy its ever-changing colours throughout the seasons.
