Pachyveria 'Orpet' is a captivating hybrid succulent, a combination of Pachyphytum bracteosum and Echeveria derenbergii. As a member of the Crassulaceae family, it showcases an enchanting compact rosette form, stemless and thornless, growing up to 12 cm in diameter.

The intriguing features of Pachyveria 'Orpet' continue with its fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves. These exhibit a gentle curve towards the apex and present a lovely bluish-green hue. The leaves can shift from a silver-blue to a reddish tint, depending on light conditions, and often display pink edges and tips, adding to their aesthetic allure.

Summer brings another surprise - the Pachyveria 'Orpet' produces bell-shaped, yellow flowers edged with pink. These beautiful blossoms grow from long, arching stalks, enhancing the plant's visual appeal.

Cultivating Pachyveria 'Orpet' is relatively straightforward, given its adaptability. It thrives best under direct sunlight, although prolonged exposure may cause burn spots. Ideally, it should be kept at temperatures above 7 °C to prevent damage. The plant prefers well-draining, porous soil - a mixture of standard cactus soil and sand is optimal.

While it is comfortable growing in poor soils, it benefits from minimal fertilization - once in spring and summer. If the pot becomes too small, repotting in early growing season is recommended. Watering should be moderate, ensuring the soil completely dries before the next watering. Pachyveria 'Orpet' goes into dormancy in winter, which should be respected by reducing watering.

Propagation can be done through offsets sprouting at the plant's base or leaf cuttings. Rooting hormone at the cut's base can aid in root development. Within a few months, your propagated Pachyveria 'Orpet' cuttings should be ready to flourish independently.
