Cotyledon Papillaris String Form is an eye-catching succulent that can add a unique touch to any garden or indoor space. This compact plant grows no more than 10cm tall, with a prostrate growth habit that makes it ideal for use as a filler plant or cascading over the edge of a pot or hanging basket. The plant is very hardy and roots readily where the stems touch the ground, making it an easy plant to propagate.
Native to the Cape Province of South Africa, this succulent belongs to the family Crassulaceae and is known for its distinctive papillate leaves. The leaves are grey-green in color and covered with small, raised bumps that give them a unique texture. The plant produces a tall inflorescence that bears clusters of tubular, orange-red flowers, adding a splash of color to the garden.
What makes the Cotyledon Papillaris String Form a stand-out plant is its colors when stressed. The leaves turn beautiful shades of pink, orange, and reddish hues, with cream to white leaf tips and margins that contrast nicely with the yellowish-green to glaucous foliage. It grows best in a sunny position and requires a free-draining gritty mix and plenty of sunlight.
This succulent is easy to care for and is tolerant of cool, frost-free conditions during the winter if kept dry. It should be kept in a sunny position and requires watering only when the soil is completely dry. It is recommended to feed it once or twice during the growing season with a fertilizer specifically formulated for cactus and succulents. But be careful not to overfeed or it will loose its beautiful colour.
Overall, the Cotyledon Papillaris String Form is an unusual and interesting succulent that can bring an element of texture and color to any garden or indoor area. With its distinct papillate leaves, striking hues, and effortless maintenance, it is undoubtedly a standout choice for succulent enthusiasts. This plant's ability to add a pop of color, unique texture, and low-maintenance requirements make it an exceptional addition to any succulent collection.

The plant you receive may therefore vary from the product images depending on the season, its stage of growth and current growing conditions. These natural variations are part of the character of living plants and do not affect their quality or health.

Stunning plant very happy with my purchase
Very happy with my purchase!
It was still showing gorgeous colours when I unwrapped it, happy, healthy & stunning. I'm guessing the "String Form' means the way it is connected underground which because of the good size meant I could divide it as each piece had good roots. 5 days later it is looking quite happy & settling in well. Your plants are always good quality & I'm always amazed that they look so good on opening.

Store owner replied: Yes, these form roots easily wherever the stem touches the ground. They have been such a big hit with our customers it has been hard to keep up with demand. We managed to source some extra large plants and are now putting more cuttings per pot so they fill out a lot quicker. I hope we don't run out.
