Crassula Dorothy
Crassula 'Dorothy' is a captivating dwarf succulent with immense ornamental appeal. Originating from a hybridisation between Crassula susannae and Crassula deceptor, this petite beauty graces us from the Cooper's Cactus and Succulents nursery in California.
This slow-growing cultivar forms distinctive rosettes, resembling a bouquet of verdant blooms. Each rosette, with its knobbly green leaves, measures up to 2.2cm in diameter, fitting comfortably on an office shelf or a corner of your living room. Over time, these rosettes grow into a densely packed cluster, lending an enchanting carpet-like appearance to the pot they inhabit.
The botanical charm of Crassula 'Dorothy' peaks during the autumn months, when delicate yellow flowers grace the top of elongated, succulent stems. The tiny petals of these blossoms might be barely discernible, but their presence imparts a subtle allure to the overall presentation of the plant.
The cultivation of Crassula 'Dorothy' can be an enjoyable venture for both seasoned and novice gardeners. It thrives under full sun or semi-shade, with intense sunlight enhancing the bright red tinges on its leaves. While it can bear exposure to temperatures down to -5ºC, a temperate indoor climate in winter or some degree of shelter is preferred. Pickup is available in Seville, Yarra Valley VIC by appointment. Order online as normal and any shipping charge will be automatically refunded after collection, unless you would prefer to receive an additional plant of similar value instead.
