Crassula ericoides, commonly known as the Large Whipcord, is a succulent species native to South that grows up to 30cm in height. Its small bushy shrub has upright and firm, clustered branches that are smooth and layered as scales, branching towards the apex. The stem is brown with horizontal strips of flaking bark on older branches, and the branches are green and 2mm in diameter. The leaves are green and lanceolate or ovate, up to 0.2cm long and 0.2cm wide, and arranged in pairs along the stem.

In summer, tubular star-shaped white flowers appear in clusters at the tip of the branches, partly concealed by upper leaves. The flowers are about 3-5mm long and have nearly free, spreading petals that are concave and more or less folded and ridged on the back. The sepals are linear, acute or bluntly acute, convex, and ridged towards the apex. The stamens are about 3-4mm long, with brown anthers. The plant is bisexual, and the styles are subulate and as long as the ovaries.

Crassula ericoides is a horticultural species that grows well in well-drained soil and full sun. It is found in grasslands, sandy flats, and coastal habitats among granite boulders in South Africa. The plant is drought-tolerant and requires little water once established. It can be propagated from stem cuttings or by division, making it a popular choice for gardeners and succulent enthusiasts.

Overall, Crassula ericoides is an attractive and easy-to-grow succulent that adds interest to any garden or succulent collection. Its bushy, layered branches and delicate white flowers make it a standout in any landscape.
