Crassula tomentosa var. glabrifolia, commonly known as woolly crassula, is a beautiful succulent plant that is native to Southern Namibia and the Republic of South Africa. It slowly grows into one to few compact rosettes of greyish-green leaves, which are covered with tiny white hairs at the rims. The leaves are broadly obovate with truncate tips and can grow up to 1.5 cm long. The plant can reach up to 30 cm tall when flowering, with white to yellowish flowers appearing on erect stems from early to mid-summer.

This plant is a small variety of Crassula tomentosa, and it is monocarpic, meaning that individual rosettes flower once in their life before setting seeds and dying. Crassula tomentosa var. glabrifolia is a very variable species with many slightly different forms. It is often found naturally growing in rock crevices and under overhanging rocks in sheltered positions. The plant is well-adapted to survive in harsh environments and grows well in the Succulent Karoo and the more arid Nama Karoo, both desert ecoregions located in southwestern Africa, covering parts of Namibia and South Africa.

Other succulent species that grow alongside Crassula tomentosa var. glabrifolia include Pelargonium crithmifolium, Conophytum bilobum, and Euphorbia mauritanica. This hardy plant is perfect for gardeners who love low-maintenance plants, and its unique appearance makes it an excellent addition to rock gardens and dry gardens. Overall, Crassula tomentosa var. glabrifolia is an attractive and adaptable plant that is sure to impress.
