⁸Echeveria Angel Wings variegated, is a stunning succulent plant with spoon shaped leaves that are edged in creamy white and have a pinkish-lavender center. The exact parentage of this plant is not entirely clear, although some speculation suggests that it may be a hybrid of Echeveria "Afterglow" and Echeveria setosa. Regardless of its origin, its unique coloration and texture make it a popular choice for indoor and outdoor gardens, and it is sure to turn heads with its striking appearance.
Echeveria Angel Wings is not difficult to grow provided you observe some simple rules. The main reason people fail in growing them is from over watering. To keep these plants in optimum health it is important to firstly use a very free draining potting mix, secondly, don't put them in a pot way to big for the plant, so the soil is able to dry quickly, and thirdly, only water when really dry.
Do give them a thorough watering once dry though, as you want all the roots to get some water. A good rule of thumb for watering is to wait for the bottom leaves to go limp before you water. That way you know for sure the plant needs watering.
Another important tip we can give you that applies to most variegated succulents, especially the rare slow growing ones, is to give them more food than you normally would. We ensure sufficient nutrients in our potting mix and also supplement with a good liquid food once to twice each month during the growing season.
Because they have minimal green chlorophyll in their leaves due to their variegation (more so with extreme variegated plants) they are unable to photosynthesize as much food for themselves as regular plants, so giving them extra liquid feeding really helps to compensate for this.
Along with giving them good light, a must for all succulents, if you follow all these basic rules you will see amazing results and gain a lot more pleasure in growing these rare beauties.
