Echeveria 'Blue Curls' also known as Echeveria 'Curls' is a striking succulent with wavy blue-green leaves that take on a pink hue in spring and autumn, making it an eye-catching addition to any garden or collection. The rosette can grow up to 30 cm in diameter and produces well-spaced reddish-pink flowers on long stalks in summer.
Like most Echeveria species, 'Blue Curls' is relatively easy to care for. It prefers well-draining soil and should not be allowed to sit in water as this can cause rot. Regularly removing dead leaves from the bottom of the plant can help prevent pest infestations, as Echeverias are susceptible to mealy bugs.
Propagation can be done through leaf cuttings, stem cuttings, or seeds, and repotting should be done as needed during the warm season.
'Blue Curls' is a hybrid with Echeveria gibbiflora parentage, created by Frank Reinelt, and is a sister seedling to another well known plant, Echeveria 'Blue Waves' Its exact origins and correct naming are somewhat unclear, but this does not detract from the beauty and uniqueness of this stunning plant.
Overall, Echeveria 'Blue Curls' is an excellent choice for anyone looking to add a low-maintenance yet visually striking succulent to their collection or garden. Its wavy blue-green leaves and pink-tinged foliage make it an intriguing and beautiful addition to any space.
