Echeveria agavoides 'Corderoyi' also known as 'Aquamarine', is a beautiful succulent plant that is a favorite among collectors and gardeners alike. Its common name of 'Aquamarine' came about after a large nursery propagated them by tissue culture and it was renamed Echeveria 'Aquamarine' for marketing purposes.

This stemless succulent grows to around 20cm in diameter, forming a solitary rosette of thick, fleshy leaves. The leaves are triangular in shape, aquamarine in colour, hence the name and have a terminal spine. In summer, the plant produces beautiful pinkish-red flowers with petals tipped with dark yellow, which appear in clusters on slender stalks up to 50cm long.

Echeveria agavoides 'Aquamarine' is an easy plant to cultivate, and it can tolerate different kinds of soil and light conditions, but it will thrive in full sun exposure. This plant can survive long dry periods, but watering during the growing season will help it grow faster and better. It is sensitive to root rot, so it is best to use a well-draining soil and avoid excessive humidity during the winter months.

Propagation of Echeveria agavoides 'Aquamarine' is straightforward, and the plant can be easily propagated by leaf propagation or division of larger clumps.

This succulent is highly valued for its beautiful, emerald-green/aquamarine leaves that tend to get red tips in summer, which makes it an excellent addition to any succulent collection or garden.
