Echeveria 'Hwanhee' is a striking Korean hybrid succulent admired for its elegant rosette form and dynamic colouration. Likely bred from parents with Echeveria laui or Echeveria elegans influence, this cultivar embodies the delicate pastel tones often favoured in Korean breeding lines. The rosette forms neatly with symmetrical, fleshy leaves that are initially a soft glaucous blue, coated in a powdery farina that gives the plant a frosted, almost porcelain-like appearance.
Under light stress or cool temperatures, Echeveria 'Hwanhee' undergoes a stunning transformation—its leaves shift to vivid shades of orange, pink, and red, often intensifying around the leaf margins and tips. This seasonal colour change makes it a favourite for collectors who enjoy watching their plants respond to the environment. Each rosette typically reaches about 10–12 cm in diameter, remaining compact and well-proportioned.
This succulent thrives in full sun to bright, indirect light but benefits from protection during the hottest parts of the Australian summer.
