Echeveria Lemon Rose Variegated
Echeveria 'Lemon Rose' Variegated is an elegant variegated Echeveria prized for its broad, softly coloured rosettes and beautiful combination of glaucous green, cream and pale yellow foliage. Seasonal pink to rose colouring can develop along the leaf margins, creating a particularly attractive pastel effect that changes noticeably throughout the year.
Distinctive Variegated Foliage
The fleshy leaves form broad, open rosettes, with green to blue-green centres contrasting against irregular cream, ivory or pale yellow variegation. The pattern and amount of variegation naturally differ between individual plants and leaves, meaning no two specimens develop exactly alike.
The pale sections contain less chlorophyll than the green portions of the leaf, giving the plant its luminous appearance. As the rosette matures, the leaves become broader and more substantial, creating an attractive layered form.
Colour & Seasonal Changes
'Lemon Rose' is particularly appealing for the way its colour responds to changing growing conditions. Pink to rose tones can develop along the outer margins and tips of the leaves, becoming more pronounced under suitable light and cooler seasonal conditions. At other times of year the plant may appear predominantly soft green, cream and pale yellow.
Variegated succulents naturally change in appearance as they grow, and new leaves may display a different balance of green and cream from older growth. These variations are part of the character of the cultivar and make each plant individual.
Origins & Growth Habit
Echeveria 'Lemon Rose' is reported in cultivation as a hybrid involving Echeveria shaviana and Echeveria colorata, although detailed breeder and parentage records are not widely documented. The variegated form has become a sought-after collector plant for its combination of substantial rosette form and soft multicoloured foliage.
Plants initially form individual rosettes and can produce offsets as they mature, gradually developing into attractive multi-rosette specimens. For an even more unusual expression of this cultivar, see our Echeveria 'Lemon Rose' Variegated Crest.
Light & Best Colour
Echeveria 'Lemon Rose' Variegated can grow successfully in bright light through to part shade. For the most compact rosettes and strongest pink and rose colouring, provide as much light as the plant can safely tolerate. Plants should be gradually acclimatised when moving into stronger sun, particularly if previously grown under protected conditions.
Because the pale variegated portions contain less chlorophyll, they can be more susceptible to scorching than the green areas. Some protection from intense afternoon sun during very hot Australian weather can therefore be beneficial while still providing plenty of good light for colour and compact growth.
Watering & General Care
Grow in a very free-draining succulent mix and water thoroughly when required, allowing the growing medium to dry well between waterings. Avoid continually damp conditions, particularly during cool weather when the plant is using less moisture.
Variegated plants generally benefit from steady rather than excessively rapid growth. Heavy feeding is unnecessary; if fertiliser is used, apply it lightly during active growth. Combined with sensible watering and good light, restrained feeding helps maintain a compact, well-balanced rosette and attractive variegation.

Succulents naturally change in colour, size and form throughout the year. Many develop richer colours and more compact growth during periods of seasonal stress, particularly through cooler months and brighter conditions, while warmer or lower-light conditions may produce greener, softer growth.
The plant you receive may therefore vary from the product images depending on the season, its stage of growth and current growing conditions. These natural variations are part of the character of living plants and do not affect their quality or health.
Pickup is available in Seville, Yarra Valley VIC by appointment. Order online as normal and any shipping charge will be automatically refunded after collection, unless you would prefer to receive an additional plant of similar value instead.
