Echeveria ‘Low’ Crested – Succulent Cutting

What you will receive

You will receive one crested Echeveria ‘Low’ cutting, generally with some small roots already forming and ready for planting. Cuttings may have multiple narrow stems or a wider single stem, reflecting the naturally variable growth of a crested plant. Images 2 onward show examples of the different shapes, sizes and forms you may receive, while the first image shows a tray of our current stock and illustrates the beautiful colour and natural variation within this variety.

Each cutting is individually selected and will be similar in overall size, quality and value to those shown. As with all living plants, crest shape, size and colouring will vary naturally depending on the season, growth stage and growing conditions.

About Echeveria ‘Low’ Crest

Echeveria ‘Low’ crested is a particularly eye-catching succulent, prized for its flowing, fan-like growth and ever-changing colour palette. Its fleshy leaves are typically blue-green with soft pink margins, developing stronger pink and red tones under bright light and cooler seasonal conditions.

What makes this form especially interesting is its fasciated, or crested, growth. Instead of developing as a conventional single rosette, the growing point becomes elongated and produces an irregular succession of tightly packed leaves along a widening crest. The resulting sculptural forms are naturally variable, meaning no two cuttings will develop in exactly the same way.

Colour & Seasonal Changes

Throughout the year, Echeveria ‘Low’ crest responds beautifully to changing conditions. During the cooler months, colours can intensify into deeper shades of blue-green, pink and red. In warmer periods, active growth generally produces softer green-blue foliage with more subtle pink highlights. Good light encourages compact growth and stronger colour contrast.

Growth & Size

This is a moderately growing succulent that can develop crests around 20 cm across, with established specimens continuing to broaden and develop increasingly complex, undulating forms over time. Its ability to branch and produce additional growing points adds further character as the plant matures.

Growing from Cuttings

Echeveria ‘Low’ crest is particularly rewarding to grow from a cutting because the distinctive crested form is already present in the material you receive. Once established, the cutting continues developing along its existing fasciated growth points, gradually becoming broader, fuller and increasingly sculptural.

Plant the cutting into a very free-draining succulent mix and place it in a bright, protected position while it establishes. Many of our cuttings already have small roots forming along the stem, giving them a useful head start. Allow the growing medium to dry between light waterings and avoid keeping newly planted cuttings continually moist. Once established and actively growing, gradually introduce the plant to stronger light to encourage compact growth and richer colouring.

Because every crest develops differently, much of the appeal of growing Echeveria ‘Low’ from a cutting is watching its individual form evolve. A relatively simple young crest can gradually branch, widen and develop into a substantial specimen with its own unique combination of folds, growing points and seasonal colour.

First time customers...  Please read our Shipping Guide, in top or bottom menu, before placing your order.

Please Note:

  • All plants are sent bare rooted with no pots and soil, or minimum soil only.
