Echeveria 'Xuan Ji', also known as Echeveria 'Golden Fire', is a rare and beautiful Korean hybrid with unknown parentage. This small clustering succulent features beautifully curved leaves that come to a sharp point with a red tip. Its leaves transition from green to gold and then to coppery-red tones as it ages and experiences dryness. The heads of this plant can grow to around 7cm in diameter, while it clusters predominantly from the base, forming an irregular but fairly neat stack of tiny rosettes, resembling a small tower. It will be interesting to see how this further develops with time.
Echeveria 'Xuan Ji' is a hardy plant that handles dryness very well, making it an easy-care choice for both experienced and novice gardeners alike. While we have yet to see how this plant fares in winter, we can anticipate that its colors may deepen significantly more as most echeverias do in colder temperatures.
Overall, Echeveria 'Xuan Ji' is a beautiful and unique new hybrid that is sure to be a hit with collectors and succulent enthusiasts. With its attractive foliage and tidy clustering growth habit, it will make a great addition to any succulent collection. Its hardiness and ease of care also make it an ideal plant for those new to succulent gardening.
