Graptopetalum pentandrum 'Superbum' is a captivating succulent that hails from Mexico. This shrubby plant has suberect to semi-decumbent stems, with dense rosettes of thick, fleshy, bluish-lavender leaves that cluster at the end of the stems. This species can grow up to 8 cm tall, with rosettes up to 12.5 cm in diameter. The leaves are oblong-obovate, up to 6 cm long, and 2.5 cm wide, with a deltoid mucro. When grown in full sun, this plant remains relatively compact.

In late winter to early spring, the plant blooms with multiple star-shaped flowers that are white-yellow in color. The flowers have five to six greenish-yellow petals with red tips and two to three crossbands and scattered dots of the same color below. The flowers appear on erect or ascending, up to 40 cm long, multiple-branched inflorescences.

Graptopetalum pentandrum 'Superbum' is a relatively easy-to-care-for plant. Container-bound plants thrive in a mixture of peat, sand or other grit, topsoil, and a little bit of compost. Full sun is the best situation, but it will also grow in partial sun with slightly rangy results. The plant needs excellent drainage and moderate water, and you can tell when to water by sticking your finger in the soil. If it is dry several centimeters down or the fleshy leaves are looking shriveled, you should water.

This lovely specimen is perfect for adding interest to rock gardens, xeriscaping, or as a standout feature in a container. Its fascinating beauty makes it an excellent addition to any collection. Overall, Graptopetalum pentandrum 'Superbum' is a fantastic plant that is sure to catch the eye of any succulent lover.
