Graptoveria 'Marpin', also known as 'Rose Queen', is a beautiful and easy-to-grow succulent that can add stunning colours to any garden or succulent collection. This compact and hardy plant produces rosettes of thick, fleshy leaves that range in shades from soft blue-green to brownish-pink, with darker pink spots forming over time. When stressed the leaves turn a lovely rose pink transitioning to darker purple tones over winter, intensifying the colours of this already beautiful plant.
The plant prefers a sunny to partly shaded position and is happy in either full sun or part shade. It is drought tolerant and needs low water requirements, making it an ideal plant for busy gardeners or those living in dry climates. The plant grows up to 15cm in height and width and forms a mound of tight grayish-pink rosettes that multiply quickly. It can be grown in a pot with well-draining soil using the soak and dry method for watering and is also quite at home in the garden in frost free areas
Graptoveria 'Marpin' blooms in the summer, producing beautiful pink and coral flowers with yellow centers on long arching stems. The flowers are bell-shaped and add a lovely touch to the already stunning plant. Although it prefers a sunny position, it should be protected from intense afternoon summer sun in hot climates to avoid damage to the leaves.
This hybrid plant is believed to originate from the United States and is a cross of Graptopetalum paraguayense and Echeveria. It is tender and will not tolerate frost, making it suitable for gardeners living in warmer climates.
Overall, Graptoveria 'Marpin' is an excellent addition to any succulent collection or garden. Its beautiful colours and low maintenance needs make it an ideal plant for both beginner and experienced gardeners alike.
