Haworthia cooperi 'Silver Swirls' is an attractive cultivated Haworthia with compact rosettes of fleshy green to silvery-green leaves. Its semi-translucent leaf tips are patterned with fine pale markings, creating the softly silvered appearance that gives the cultivar its name.
Silvery, windowed foliage
The thick leaves taper towards rounded to pointed translucent tips marked with fine longitudinal lines and silvery patterning. When viewed in good light, these translucent areas can take on an almost glass-like appearance.
Foliage colour and translucency vary with season, hydration and light. Plants grown under brighter conditions may develop deeper green, bronze or reddish tones, while those in gentler filtered light generally remain greener and softer in colour.
Compact rosettes with pups
'Silver Swirls' produces offsets from around the base as it matures, gradually developing into attractive clusters. The pups can be left attached to create a fuller specimen or separated once sufficiently developed for propagation.

Haworthia cooperi is a naturally variable South African species known for its fleshy, translucent leaf tips. 'Silver Swirls' is a cultivated selection associated horticulturally with this species, but reliable documentation establishing its precise origin or breeder is limited.
Growing Haworthia cooperi 'Silver Swirls'
Grow in a free-draining succulent mix with bright filtered light and good airflow. Protection from intense Australian afternoon summer sun helps preserve the attractive translucent foliage and reduces the risk of scorching.
Water thoroughly when required, allowing the growing medium to dry appropriately between waterings. Avoid keeping the roots continuously wet. Plants may become slightly less plump during dry periods and regain fullness after watering.
