Haworthia truncata 'Lime Green' is a stunning, stemless succulent known for its unusually squared, lime-to-chartreuse leaves that resemble a row of open book pages. A probable hybrid between Haworthia truncata and either Haworthia cuspidata or Haworthia cymbiformis, this cultivar forms compact, fan-shaped rosettes with translucent “leaf windows” that allow light to penetrate into the plant’s internal tissues—a clever evolutionary adaptation for surviving low-light conditions in its native habitat.

The vibrant lime green foliage is enhanced by darker emerald-green venation, giving each leaf a marbled or veined appearance. With maturity, the plant forms attractive clumps, growing slowly but steadily. The surface of the leaves often appears frosted or glistening, especially in strong light, making this a striking addition to any succulent collection.

In late spring to early summer, Haworthia truncata 'Lime Green' sends up delicate flowering stalks up to 30 cm tall, adorned with small, cream and white blooms. Though subtle, the flowers add an elegant contrast to the bold foliage.

Best suited for bright but indirect light, it thrives on windowsills or in well-draining containers—teacups and shallow bowls work beautifully. It is ideal for Australian conditions in frost-free areas, tolerating temperatures down to about 0 °C. Easy to care for, it only requires occasional watering and minimal intervention. With time, it forms dense clumps and can be propagated by division, rewarding patience with its unique visual charm.
