Lobivia arachnacantha Orange Form is a captivating dwarf cactus species native to Bolivia. This unique succulent features compact, flattened to spherical stems with dark green coloring, adorned with around 14 weakly notched ribs. The plant's short, recurved spines resemble scorpions, adding to its intriguing appearance. Lobivia arachnacantha typically grows to 6 cm across and produces numerous offsets that can be easily removed for propagation.

During the warmer months, this cactus bursts into bloom with stunning 6 cm wide orange flowers. These vibrant blooms appear en masse, creating a striking display. For optimal growth and flowering, place your Lobivia arachnacantha in a protected, partially shaded outdoor position or in a sunny indoor spot. Adequate light is crucial for maintaining its shape, color, and to encourage flowering.

Water your Lobivia cactus sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. During the growing season, which spans the warmer months, the plant requires more frequent watering. However, it can survive long periods without water and remains compact when kept dry. Average household temperatures of around 21°C are ideal, and the plant thrives with humidity levels between 30-45%.

For best results, plant Lobivia arachnacantha in a well-draining succulent soil mix, possibly amended with perlite and coarse sand. Enhance drainage by adding a layer of gravel at the bottom of the pot. Feed the cactus every two weeks with a high-potassium fertilizer during spring and summer to encourage growth and blooming.

Propagation is straightforward: cut one of the offsets, let it callus, and then plant it in cactus soil. This hardy cactus can also go dormant in winter, with cooler temperatures around 7°C and reduced sunlight to prepare for the next blooming season.

Lobivia arachnacantha Orange Form is a low-maintenance, space-saving plant perfect for sunny windowsills, offering vibrant blooms that brighten any indoor or outdoor space. Its easy care and striking appearance make it an excellent choice for both novice and experienced succulent enthusiasts.
