Nematanthus strigillosus, commonly known as the Goldfish Plant, is a small perennial branching plant native to Brazil. Its dark green, waxy, succulent leaves add a lovely contrast, with new growth appearing coppery red. The plant is named for its beautiful golden flowers that resemble a goldfish. It prefers dappled shade as the leaves may burn in full sun, and it does not like to be overwatered, although it requires more water than most succulents. The plant makes a great indoor plant when grown in bright light.

Nematanthus strigillosus is a member of the Gesneriaceae family and all its species are endemic to Brazil. Compared to other gesneriads, Nematanthus has small, succulent, and hard-surfaced leaves. The plant has a trailing, branching, and spreading habit and is generally an epiphyte in nature and a hanging-basket plant in cultivation. Hummingbirds often feed on the nectar-filled "goldfish" flowers.

Nematanthus strigillosus is reportedly found growing up and down the east coast of Australia, growing especially well in a warm and humid environment. It will also grow in full shade providing the area is very well lit. The flowers have fused petals, and some species have a "pouch" at the bottom. Resupinate flowers may be brightly coloured, funnel-shaped and compressed from side to side, or white and bell-shaped. The plant is a great addition to any indoor garden and is relatively easy to care for.
