Pachyveria 'Light and Lovely' Variegata
Pachyveria 'Light and Lovely' Variegata is a distinctive variegated succulent prized for its plump, softly coloured leaves and beautifully formed rosettes. Its fleshy foliage combines powdery blue-green to grey-green tones with irregular areas of cream, ivory and pale yellow variegation. Under brighter light and cooler seasonal conditions, delicate pink, mauve or warm blush tones may also develop, giving mature plants a particularly attractive pastel appearance.
About Pachyveria 'Light and Lovely' Variegata
Although this plant is widely circulated under the name Pachyveria 'Light and Lovely', the naming history of the cultivar is somewhat complex. 'Light and Lovely' has also been associated with the succulent commonly known as 'Supreme', which is classified in some horticultural references as ×Graptophytum 'Supreme', a hybrid involving Graptopetalum and Pachyphytum. Variegated forms of 'Supreme' are also known in cultivation. We retain the name Pachyveria 'Light and Lovely' Variegata because this is the name under which our plants were originally obtained and are established in Australian cultivation.
The plant develops substantial rosettes of thick, gently pointed leaves with a natural coating of farina, the fine powdery bloom that gives many succulents their soft, frosted appearance. As plants mature they may develop a short stem and produce offsets, gradually forming an attractive multi-rosette specimen. Variegation varies naturally from plant to plant and even between individual leaves, with some displaying broad creamy sectors and others showing a more finely blended pattern.
Colour & Growing Conditions
For compact growth and good colour, provide plenty of bright light, with some direct sun where the plant has been gradually acclimatised. In Australian conditions, protection from intense afternoon sun during very hot weather can help prevent scorching, particularly on the pale variegated sections of the leaves.
Grow in a free-draining succulent mix and allow the potting medium to dry well between waterings. Avoid leaving water sitting around the roots for extended periods, particularly during cool or wet weather. Seasonal changes in light and temperature can noticeably alter the foliage colour, so plants may appear greener during active growth and develop stronger pastel, pink or mauve tones at other times of the year.

Pickup is available in Seville, Yarra Valley VIC by appointment. Order online as normal and any shipping charge will be automatically refunded after collection, unless you would prefer to receive an additional plant of similar value instead.
