Rebutia c.v. Liliputiana
Rebutia c.v. ‘Liliputiana’ is a compact cultivated cactus valued for its miniature growth habit and neat, rounded form. Like many Rebutia cultivars, it remains relatively small and is well suited to pots where its fine detail and flowering display can be appreciated at close range.
Compact miniature form
Plants develop as small globular heads with closely arranged ribs or tubercles and a covering of fine spines. With age, established specimens may produce offsets around the base, gradually forming attractive compact clusters while still retaining their characteristically small scale.
Flowers
Rebutia are particularly noted for producing flowers that are large in proportion to the size of the plant. Flowers generally emerge from the lower sides of the stems during the warmer growing season and can create a strong display when several buds open together.
The exact breeding history and parentage of ‘Liliputiana’ do not appear to be well documented, so we prefer not to attribute it to particular species without reliable supporting information.
Growing Rebutia ‘Liliputiana’
Grow in a free-draining cactus and succulent mix with plenty of bright light. Some protection from intense Australian summer afternoon sun is beneficial, particularly for small plants grown in pots. Water during active growth, allowing the growing medium to dry between waterings, and keep considerably drier during colder weather.
Good airflow and drainage are especially important through winter. Its small size makes ‘Liliputiana’ particularly suitable for compact cactus displays, small pots and collections where miniature-growing forms are preferred.

Pickup is available in Seville, Yarra Valley VIC by appointment. Order online as normal and any shipping charge will be automatically refunded after collection, unless you would prefer to receive an additional plant of similar value instead.
