Sedum Lydium is a very interesting, underrated Sedum rock crop, with extremely fine needle like leaves that form into little rosettes. Also known as Mossy Stonecrop or Least Stonecrop, it is a charming and easy-to-grow succulent groundcover. Its creeping and rooting branches form a dense mat of foliage that flushes red or purple in the sun, making it an attractive addition to green roofs, dry-stone walls, or rock gardens. This Sedum is native to western Turkey, where it grows in damp and mossy places on mountains.

In the summer, Sedum lydium produces clusters of white star-shaped flowers with five petals and a striking red midvein, adding to its beauty. While it is a drought-resistant plant, it grows best in dry, gravelly, and well-drained soil, and thrives in full sun. It can tolerate extreme drought, making it an excellent plant for those hard-to-grow areas in your garden.

Sedum lydium is a hardy plant that can survive in a wide range of climatic conditions, from cold to hot temperatures. It can be grown in Australia in areas that are not too frosty, although it may not thrive in extremely hot and humid areas. This Sedum can grow up to 10 cm in height and spreads to form a large mat, making it an excellent choice for groundcovers.

Overall, Sedum lydium is a delightful plant that is easy to care for, low-maintenance, and adds beauty to any garden. Its attractive foliage, white star-shaped flowers, and drought-resistant nature make it a perfect choice for those looking for an easy-to-grow succulent groundcover.

Sedum lydium plants for sale shown in 70mm pot. Current plants are similar in size and colour to the one shown in image 2. Colours will vary depending on time of year and growing conditions.
