Sedum rubrotinctum 'Red Berry' is a fascinating and visually striking cultivar of the well-known succulent Sedum rubrotinctum. Distinct from the common Jelly Bean Plant, 'Red Berry' presents itself with small, shiny leaves that turn from green to a beautiful bronze or red when stressed. What sets this cultivar apart are the reddish-brown, berry-like clusters that form on the tips of its leaves during late summer and fall. Though these clusters are sterile and don’t produce seeds, they add a unique flair to the plant's appearance.

Growing up to 15cm tall, Sedum rubrotinctum 'Red Berry' exhibits a more compact habit than the original form. The bright red, bean-like foliage gradually turns a brilliant red with age, providing an eye-catching display in any garden setting. Thriving in either full sun or part shade, this plant's adaptability makes it suitable for a variety of Australian gardens.

Care for Sedum rubrotinctum 'Red Berry' is uncomplicated, making it a fantastic choice for both novice and experienced gardeners. Watering should be moderated, with more in the summer and less in winter, ensuring that the soil is dry between watering sessions. Planting in well-draining soil is essential, and it is best never to allow the plant to sit in water. The 'Red Berry' is a beautiful addition to succulent arrangements and rock gardens, where its vibrant colors and unique features can truly shine. Its ease of care and distinct appearance make it a noteworthy plant for anyone looking to add a touch of elegance to their outdoor space.
