The plant forms a mat of rosettes, with single heads growing to around 10 cm in diameter, while clumps can measure much larger.
What makes Sempervivum 'Pittoni' truly special is its amazing coloration when grown under conditions of low nutrients or stress. Normally, this plant has green leaves with red tips. However, under conditions of low nutrients or stress, the leaves transition From lime green to bright lemon yellow away from the crown, gradually softening to coral and then soft pink, finishing with its distinctive red tips. This striking combination and transitioning of colors is what makes this succulent so unique and highly sought after. My order arrived today. ‘Chicks’ on Sempervivum Pittoni looked a little sad but mum looked great. Now she’s back in soil, I’m hoping ‘chicks’ freshen up. Semp.
