Sempervivum 'Tristesse' is a striking succulent that offers a breathtaking array of colours, making it a standout in any garden or succulent collection. This charming plant forms compact rosettes with tightly arranged leaves, reaching a mature size of around 6 cm in diameter. The leaves are beautifully textured, creating a symmetrical, ball-like shape that gives 'Tristesse' its unique appeal.

As the seasons change, Sempervivum 'Tristesse' provides a dynamic colour palette. The outer leaves shift from rich, earthy tones to vibrant oranges and reds, while the centre rosettes offer a delightful contrast with their fresh green or golden hues. The prominent dark tips on each leaf further enhance the striking colour contrast, adding an extra layer of visual interest.

Native to the mountainous regions of Europe, Sempervivum 'Tristesse' thrives in well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade. It is well-suited to Australian climates, particularly in areas with mild winters. This hardy plant is also known for its ability to tolerate drought, making it a low-maintenance addition to rock gardens, containers, or as a ground cover.

Whether grown as a decorative accent or a standout feature in mixed plantings, Sempervivum 'Tristesse' never fails to impress.
