Zygocactus 'Sunset Dancer' showcases large, pointed pinkish-orange buds with purple undertones that bloom into stunning flowers, living up to its name by evoking a radiant sunset. This hybrid is part of the Schlumbergera Truncata Dancer Series from Holland, celebrated for its resilience and free-flowering nature. 'Sunset Dancer' thrives in partially shaded outdoor spots or sunny indoor positions. For optimal blooming and to prevent leggy growth, provide bright, filtered light with short days and long, cool nights, around 11-13 hours of darkness.
As with most houseplants, overwatering can cause rot, so allow the soil to dry on top before watering again. Plant in a well-drained cactus or succulent potting mix and apply a light water-soluble fertilizer in early spring and late summer to encourage blooms. Native to Brazil, this epiphytic cactus grows naturally on rock crevices and tree boughs, pollinated by hummingbirds.
