Echeveria ‘Racoon’ is a refined, pastel-toned hybrid succulent admired for its soft apricot hues and beautifully compact rosette form. Believed to be of cultivated garden origin rather than a naturally occurring species, this variety reflects the influence of classic Echeveria parentage—likely involving species such as Echeveria elegans or Echeveria agavoides, known for their symmetry and colour responsiveness. The plant forms tight, symmetrical rosettes of thick, spoon-shaped leaves, each coated in a delicate, powdery farina that enhances its muted, velvety appearance.

Colour is where this cultivar truly stands out. Under mild conditions, the foliage presents as pale peach to soft apricot-pink, creating a warm, understated palette. With increased sun exposure and cooler temperatures, the rosette develops brighter tones of light orange, often with subtle tonal variation across the leaf surface. This natural colour shift makes it particularly appealing for collectors seeking seasonal interest without harsh contrasts.

Echeveria ‘Racoon’ remains relatively small and manageable, typically forming rosettes in the 8–12 cm range, making it ideal for container growing, decorative arrangements, or feature planting in rockeries and succulent gardens. Its compact growth habit allows it to maintain a tidy form with minimal intervention.

Like most echeverias, it thrives in bright light and benefits from several hours of direct sun to maintain both colour and structure. A free-draining, mineral-rich succulent mix is essential, as the fleshy root system is sensitive to excess moisture. Watering should be infrequent but thorough, allowing the soil to dry completely between cycles.

With its gentle colouring, strong form, and reliable performance, Echeveria ‘Racoon’ offers a subtle yet distinctive addition to any succulent collection.

First time customers... Please read our Shipping Guide, in top or bottom menu, before placing your order.

Please Note:

  • All plants are sent bare rooted with no pots and soil, or minimum soil only.
  • Due to the drying process necessary for sending plants through the mail, plants may look slightly different than images shown on our website.
  • Some plants may look wrinkled when they arrive, may be somewhat limp, or soft to the touch. This is normal as they have been dried out for a number of days before shipping to avoid rotting in the mail.
  • Succulents are very hardy plants and they will recover quickly, provided you unpack them as soon as you receive them and follow the simple care instructions included with your order.
