So pleased to have finally sourced this much loved plant. My favourite of all the aeoniums. Originally from the Canary islands Aeonium Sedifolium is one of the smallest aeoniums, growing to a little over 20cm in ideal conditions, which takes around 4 to 5 years for the non variegated form. This form will grow much slower however, as do most variegated plants.
Unlike other Aeoniums with their large flat leaves. Aeonium Sedifolium has the tiniest chubby leaves, sticky to the touch which are formed into the smallest succulent rosettes of lime green with gorgeous red to crimson and burgundy markings on the leaf margins and stripes through the center. Aeonium Sedifolium variegated also has a soft pink and cream variegation which together with the green and red markings of the regular form, really makes it something special.
The markings and colouration will continue to deepen after its growth spurt in winter and spring. During summer Aeoniums go dormant and the heat and intensity of the summer sun will bring out the deepest colours in these lovely plants.
In conclusion, Aeonium Sedifolium Variegated is a true standout among aeoniums. Its tiny, chubby leaves display a myriad of colors from lime green to burgundy, enriched with a unique pink and cream variegation.
