This highly sought-after hybrid, originating from a cross between Graptopetalum paraguayense and likely Graptopetalum amethystinum, forms compact, powdery rosettes with beautifully shifting pastel variegation. Colours can intensify under bright light, cooler weather and mild stress, creating a constantly changing display throughout the year.
The fleshy leaves have a soft matte coating that enhances the plant’s cream, lemon, pink, lavender and purple tones. Rosettes can grow to around 9cm across, creating a dense and attractive display. As the plant matures, older basal leaves may naturally drop away, revealing bare stems and a gently trailing habit.
In spring, Graptopetalum 'Victor Kane' Variegata may produce small, star-shaped white flowers with red flecks, adding extra seasonal interest.
For best results, grow in bright light with protection from harsh afternoon sun, using a gritty, well-draining succulent mix. Allow the soil to dry between waterings to help prevent root rot, and water only lightly during the cooler months.
Propagation is usually straightforward from leaves, offsets or stem cuttings, making this variety rewarding for collectors who enjoy growing rare succulents over time.
Graptopetalum 'Victor Kane' Variegata is a beautiful choice for collectors wanting a rare variegated succulent with soft colour, strong character and excellent display appeal.
